The starting of the Additional District & Sessions Court in Reasi dates back to 1 February 1991, as per Government Order No. 248_LD (A) of 1991. Mr. Pavitar Singh Bhardwaj assumed office as the first Additional District & Sessions Judge of Reasi on 11 March 1991. Subsequently, on 31 March 2008, through Government Order No. 1213_LD (A), the court was elevated to the status of Principal District & Sessions Court. Mr. A. K. Koul took over as the inaugural Principal District & Sessions Judge of Reasi on 24 May 2008.
